I resolve...
...nothing.
Not one damn thing will I try to guilt myself into doing this year.
I'll probably make small changes, but this train has been going full steam too many years to make any 90-degree turns. I'll continue this Zzzzz-List TM Blog, but I'm doing a lot of writing somewhere else. I doubt I'll ever get back to (almost) daily posts. I'd advise you to use the Feed in Google Reader. I'll let you know if I make any changes to the side columns. (Which I'll probably simplify as the year continues.)
I'm going to take a lot more photographs. I'll even publish a few.
I'll watch a lot of baseball, but that's not anything new.
I gave up red meat and pork over a decade ago. I can't see anything I need to stop eating this year, but I'll probably try to eat less of it. I've got my yearly physical in a month. I'm sure the doctor will have some recommendations.
I will go to the beach this year, but no mountains. And I'm hoping to make it back to Montréal this summer. We'll see.
I will watch less current television, but I'll watch more old shows on DVD and many films.
I'm giving away all my baseball books this year. I'll continue my rapid downward spiral of reading fiction. There was a time where I averaged a novel a day. I don't have the patience anymore.
I'm going to play a lot more with my younger daughter, but I'll continue thinking I'm not spending enough time with her. This year my older daughter will turn 21. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to stop thinking of her as my little girl.
This year I'll make a concentrated to learn French. I'll put it off until the week before I go to Quebec.
Once again I'll think it would be fun to learn the piano. For the 30th straight year I'll leave it at that.
At no point will I pick up a paintbrush. But, if I can find a class on digital photography I'll join.
I'll listen to a lot more music of the Forties, and as wander the local CD shop, I'll realize I know even fewer current Top 40 artists than I did last year. I'll continue the Beatles Brainwashing Project with my soon to be six year old. It started with A Hard Day's Night in 2006. This year we'll watch Yellow Submarine.
But, I won't make any resolutions. No, I won't do that.
